A business oriented demo version of CeQ

The issue

ceqdemo provides a demo version of the ceq functionality. It allows to show a large number of technical features. For non-technical users the current setup has few drawbacks:

• The naming of tabs and function is purely technical (identifying the respective product), and not the underlying function.
• The structure of the presented pages is not plausible:
  • The distinction between protal (ceq demo) and personal pages (e.g. My Profile) is not visible
  • Liferay buttons for editing pages etc. are in the wrong position.
• The system is not fully functional for Internet Explorer.

Ideas for Update

Provide a more business oriented version with the following modifications:

• use a more business oriented name for the portal, e.g. "demo ag"
• use business oriented tag descriptions:
  • instead of "attachements" the function "file store"
  • instead of "Wiki" the function "documentation"
  • instead of "Microblog" the function "chat" or "communicate"
  • instead of "playground" something which sounds more professional ..

Adapt the Liferay configuration (if possible) in the following areas:

• Upgrade graphical representation, such that a clear distinction of personal and corporate services is visible in the tabs
• Upgrade the view such that the position of the control buttons is more plausible
• implement a simple role model such that "internal" and "public" data can be demonstrated

Populate the Wiki and the file store with sample data

• Wiki
  • provide a structure of interlinked documents
  • implement a cture which could be in place in a small company
  • part of the Wiki could be a description of the ceq system
  • the Wiki could contain an operating manual on the portal etc.

  • implement a structure which could be in place in a small company (e.g. with a client structure)
